Proposed Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure - Regarding Electronic Discovery
On April 12, 2006, the Supreme Court of the United States approved new rules and amendments to the
Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and the Federal Rules of Evidence. The new rules and amendments have
been transmitted to Congress and will take effect on December 1, 2006, unless Congress enacts
legislation to reject, modify, or defer the amendments.
Proposed Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure - August 2004
The Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Judicial Conference of the United States has approved for
publication and comment a package of proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, much of which is
directly related to the discovery of electronically stored information.
